Karate Do Shotokan is a way for an individual to realize greater potential and expand the limits of that individual’s physical and mental capabilities. Karate in an excellent, time-proven method of personal development. Shotokan Karate is a traditional Japanese Martial Art favouring the striking aspects of combat and the use of set forms called Kata to sharpen these skills delivered by highly experienced coaches, progressing through the belt system to the ultimate ‘Black Belt’ recognised and recorded on the National Black Belt Register. Voodoo Combat is a member of and verified by the Cobra Martial Arts Association (CMAA). There are opportunities to compete under a variety of rule sets.
This is an opportunity for our adult monthly members to come in to the gym and practice whatever they like in our fitness studio. You may wish just to hit pads for half an hour or arrange to meet another member and practice your Thai / Kick Boxing, Boxing, BJJ, Submission / Catch Wrestling or techniques. Or you just may want to use the weights, kettle bells or fitness equipment. What ever it is, this is your time! A qualified coach will always be around for any questions you may have.
Personal one to one and small group (up to 4 people) training is available throughout the week by appointment. Personal training in any of the martial arts listed above is delivered by highly qualified and experienced coaches. Bespoke fitness and conditioning as well as nutritional advice is delivered by our REPs Level 4 Personal Trainer, specialising in diabetes and obesity. In short, we can cater for any of your health and development needs.
Training in Self Defence / Street Combat is delivered via personal training sessions and public courses. It is taught by qualified self defence coaches using the DEF-CON-ONE system developed with input from the very best martial arts coaches, the military, police and prison services. This system has been proven in action by close quarters protection operatives. Please discuss this with the Head or Senior Coaches if you would like to develop these skills.
