We have put this programme together as it is increasingly popular for our clients to train in all things ‘grappling’ but do not wish to attend any of the other classes we deliver. So we offer a selection of classes that do just that for one low monthly fee. We call this our ‘Grappling Programme’ and consists of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Catch / Submission Wrestling, Rolling Skills and Power / Endurance Conditioning classes, described in more detail below. That’s a total of 7 hours training over 5 days every week!
This is a grappling art where students wear a tradition ‘Gi’ (a specialised heavy cotton suit), a belt and gum shield. You will learn to manipulate your opponent and their Gi resulting in a submission using various joint locks and chokes. You will study Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) at all levels, progressing through the BJJ belt system under Combat Base UK. Voodoo Combat is also a certified member of the UKBJJA. If you wish to challenge yourself we offer many opportunities to compete locally, nationally and internationally, often under IBJJF rules as well as others.
These are grappling arts where students wear specifically designed shorts, a close fitting top called a ‘Rash Guard’, a gum shield and sometimes a groin protector (males only). You will learn to manipulate your opponent resulting in a submission using various joint locks and chokes. You will study Submission and Catch Wrestling at all levels, progressing through the fundamental skills to the most advanced techniques. These classes also contribute towards your progression through the BJJ belt system under Combat Base UK. If you wish to challenge yourself we offer many opportunities to compete locally, nationally and internationally, often under a variety of rules including IBJJF and ADCC rules as well as others.
Due to its level of difficulty, a coach will invite you to attend when you have developed some basic skills and abilities. Suitable for our BJJ-ers and Wrestlers alike, rolling is where you get the chance to try out your skills as a fighter in a realistic yet safe environment. This fun yet challenging aspect of the martial arts is what all your training leads to and is essential if you intend progress through your Brazilian Jiu Jitsu grades or to compete in the future.
The conditioning classes develop both your ‘Power’ or ‘Endurance’ capability. It consists of a variety of drills and exercises specifically designed and selected to compliment the combat arts. These popular classes are exactly what you need if you’re keen on getting ‘fight fit’.
